Roy HESLAR died in the tuberculosis sanitarium near Rockville  on Saturday. He had been a patient there for 15 months. Funeral  services at Freedom Baptist Church on Monday were in charge of  rev. john Servies. Mrs. Rossie Spencer sang, with Miss Wanetah  Wiatt at the piano. The pallbearers were George Wilshire; Harry  Wilshire; Carrol Moody; Carl Humphreys; Dewey Hazlett and Albert  Heslar. The flowers were carried by Paul; Louis; Russell and  Manson Sanford; Herbert Buck; Carl Edmiston Paul Sewell; John  Mockbuagh; Red Carroll; Mike Matricia; Tommy Lamson; Zura Monroe  and Jack Wolfe. BUrial in Freedom Cem. Roy Richard Heslar,  youngest child of William and Maggie heslar was born Aug 23, 1909  on a farm near Waveland. He died Sept 23, 1939 at the age of 30  years and one month after a lingering illness of 18 months. He  grew to manhood and received his education in and near Waveland  and graduated from WHS in April 1927. He later attended Purdue.  He was unite din marriage to Geneva MOODY Jan 24, 1930. They  established their home in Crawfordsville and continued to live  there until he was taken to the Rockville Sanitarium June 15,  1938 where he remained until his death. To this union were born  two children, Shirley Ann age 8 and Tommy age 2. Early in life he  became a member of the Freedom Baptist Church; this affiliation  was his source of strength and comfort during his illness. He  leaves to mourn his departure the wife and two children; his  father and mother; two brothers, Chester Heslar and Guy Heslar of  Waveland; 3 sisters, Mrs. Ralph Davis and Mrs. Lewis Harvey of  Bluffton and Mrs. James Holmes of Logansport. While his life was  short the memory of his presence will long linger with his loved  ones, his relatives and friends. -- typed by kbz
